I’ve already mentioned that we’re in an attention economy.

If people forget that you exist (or never find out to begin with), you’re cooked.

A lot of people eventually come to understand this concept (or get it intuitively, looking at you Gen Z), but then swing too far in the other direction and start thinking that NOTHING else matters.

You see this a lot with wannabe influencers.

Views and followers don’t = cash

The weird social media accounts that rack up huge follower counts by baiting the algo and using every ‘hack’ in existence don’t actually make that much money.

Views and followers don’t mean anything if they don’t convert.

If you have an e-com brand and want to start running influencer marketing campaigns, you need to be VERY cautious about paying people based on views.
