We’re living through an epidemic of grifters trying to make money by talking about politics.
In a world where everyone wants to brand themselves as a political commentator, it’s better to be one of the Few who develops a real skill instead.
This is especially true if you’re young.
Why you need to learn real skills
Your brain is naturally better equipped for different tasks at different ages. When you’re in your 20’s your brain is at its most pliable.
Take advantage of your ability to learn new skills instead of wasting this limited window of time trying to become social media famous for your low-effort retarded hot takes on politics.
It might sound radical in the current social climate, but “learn real skills when you’re young and pontificate about society when you’re older” used to the norm in society.
Young people would become apprentices or start at the bottom of some mega-corporation and “work their way up to the top”.
It wasn’t possible to become a “big picture guy” until you were middle-aged, and that’s only if you’d proven that you were someone worth listening to.
Nowadays there are literal teenagers and early 20’s dorks who were born during the Obama administration who are talking all day long about solutions to the world’s problems.
Some of them may be so narcissistic that they actually think they have all the answers (despite the fact that they can’t even pay all of their own bills without their mommy and daddy’s help).
Others are just doing it because they want to be famous or they think it’s an easy way to make money.
But if you go down this path you’re only hurting yourself.
