How to Use Squeeze Pages to Build Your Email List
The money is in the list
“The money is in the list”.
If you’ve been in the WiFi money game for a while then you’ve heard people harping on the value of email lists over and over again.
Even though everyone knows that it’s important, most people are TERRIBLE at building an email list.
I’m guessing that you most likely placed a half-assed widget on your sidebar or footer at some point and called it a day. The widget gets approximately zero subscribers, but at least you can tell yourself that you “made an attempt” while you focus on aspects of your biz that you actually understand (SEO, social media, etc.).
Fortunately there’s a better way. It requires more effort and requires spending money, but if you do it right you’ll get tons of RELEVANT subscribers who are actually interested in what you’re selling.
You need to create a squeeze page.
The goal: get email addresses from your paid traffic so you own their soul
If you’re running paid traffic (Google Ads, etc.) directly to a product page then you’re wasting tons of money.
If someone decides to buy your product on that initial visit then that’s great. But if they bounce then they’re gone forever and you can’t market to them again (yes retargeting ads exist but then you’re just burning through more money).
Instead of relying on the “spend and pray” method of paid traffic, you need to convince them to turn over their email address so you can market to them forever.
Once you have their email address you own their soul.
You can blast out emails to them for “free” (other than whatever you’re paying for your email marketing platform) as often as you want. As long as they don’t unsubscribe you can keep marketing to them until the end of time.
