Rank in Google With the First Person Perspective (Example From the Wild)
How you should write your reviews
For you soldiers out there still trucking away at the affiliate content game; this one’s for you.
“Just add personality bro”, “write from a first-person perspective bro”, “create unique content bro”. We’re all sick of hearing it. The SEO influenza catchphrases have been repeated ad nauseum to the point of meaninglessness.
But as with all cliches, they’re annoying but there’s also a lot of truth to them.
Why most affiliate content sucks
The problem is that most SEOs are too autistic for their own good.
Writing from a first-person perspective doesn’t mean autistically adding the words ‘I’ and ‘we’ and ‘us’ to Standard Affiliate Slop (SAS) and calling it a day.
It means saying things about the product that can only come from you, based on your own personality and writing style.
Example of someone doing it right
I recently stumbled across an affiliate site out in the wild that I think is doing this perfectly.
Some of you may know that I like to smoke cigars. I try to limit myself because obviously it’s not the healthiest of habits, but I do like to hang out on my porch and smoke every once in a while.
I was thinking about buying an Arturo Fuente Don Carlos (huge AF fan here) and - like all good consooooomers - searched for reviews on Google.
I ended up on this affiliate site called Tight White Ash: http://tightwhiteash.com/arturo-fuente-don-carlos-robusto-review/
While I was reading the review I was like “damn, this guy is doing it right” and realized I needed to share it with you.
