According to standard SEO advice and Google’s guidelines, buying links is a huge no-no. The fear of incurring Google’s wrath and a desire for conformity are enough to persuade most that it’s not worth taking the risk.
The reality is…somewhat different.
Today I’m going to go over the benefits and drawbacks of paid links.
Is it a good idea to buy links?
Yes, you absolutely should be buying links.
If you don’t, it’s not necessarily impossible to rank (depending on your niche), but you’re making your life way more difficult.
Why you should buy links
Linkbuilding is hard.
Doing organic outreach is very difficult. You have to work on your copywriting, sales, and relationship-building skills. You need patience, perseverance, and the ability to withstand people rejecting you/giving you the cold shoulder.
That’s when you’re building links to informational articles.
If you’re planning to build free links to your money posts (best-of, comparison, and reviews), then good luck. Very few people are going to link to your money posts for free (although I do have some techniques for that as well😉).
If you want to build a large quantity of links to your money posts, you’ll have to pay.
