There’s nothing worse than typing a query into Google and being confronted with a gigantic wall of text when you click on a result.

You hate it. I hate it. Everyone hates it. So why are you writing huge, boring chunks of text when you create content on YOUR website? You know that it sucks.

So stop doing it.

The problem

Walls of text are at pandemic levels on the internet.

In its most egregious form, a wall of text is literally just a huge block of words with zero paragraph breaks. If you’re writing anything that looks like the above then you’re obviously in serious trouble and need a refresher on how the English language works.

But when I refer to a “wall of text”, I’m not only talking about the most obvious cases. For example, the image below shows another example of what I consider to be a wall of text.
