Most SEO beginners view internal links as an afterthought.

This is a HUGE mistake.

Internal linking is one of the most powerful technical SEO factors in existence.

All of the best SEOs are masters at internally linking their content together.

There’s definitely a learning curve involved, but once you understand the four basic concepts there’s an “aha moment” where it all clicks and starts making sense.

Why internal links exist

Reason #1: To spread link juice (boomer term)

Spreading authority between pages is the “classic” use case for internal links.

“Link juice” is a term that you don’t see getting thrown around as much anymore.

But back in the boomer days of the internet it’s what we used as a handy metaphor to describe the concept.
