I’ll be upfront: Selling your own product is the easiest way to make money (relatively) quickly.
Content businesses take time to grow and have a high rate of failure. Most people who take a stab at the content game fail miserably.
With that said, it’s clear that governments (and the general population) are becoming more and more hostile towards the concept of free trade and becoming more and more jealous towards anyone who has even $0.01 more than them.
An asset-light business is a necessity in this day and age.
It could be an affiliate business (becoming more difficult due to recent algorithm updates), consulting, a podcast, a YouTube channel, a newsletter, a guru/course business, anything.
Avoiding exposure to tariffs/political BS
The world is becoming more hostile.
I’ve experienced it slightly while living overseas and traveling around the world. A bit more hostile glares, a bit more people purposely bumping into me in crowds, nothing major but definitely noticeable compared to a few years ago.
The masses are convinced that their problems are being caused by foreigners.
This is a global issue, it’s not just in the USA.
In a business sense, this manifests as people believing that the reason the economy sucks is because of evil businessmen manufacturing overseas instead of “investing in America”.
Anyone who has skin in the game knows that this is absurd.
There’s simply no way to manufacture most products in America and still sell them for the prices that people are willing to pay.
