You Should Always Feel Like You're Slightly In Over Your Head
What the learning process is like
The paradox of getting good at any skill is that you always feel like you suck.
Because the way you achieve mastery is by constantly putting yourself in a position where you’re slightly in over your head.
You should always feel like your skills are inadequate for the current situation.
Not in a sense where you’re flailing around helplessly like a true beginner.
You shouldn’t be completely lost in the sauce, staring wild-eyed and slack-jawed at the problem with no hope of a solution.
You should feel like “damn, if I knew a little bit more this would be easy”.
