YouTube is Where It's At
Every business needs a YouTube presence and they need it now.
YouTube is the platform to focus on in 2026.
Changes in both what the algorithm is rewarding and the way people prefer to consume content make it a 100% must-have.
Not nice-to-have. Not ‘oh I’ll get to it someday’.
Your business needs YouTube and it needs it right now.
Buyer intent = through the roof
The buyer intent on YouTube is insane compared to other platforms.
It’s your natural human instinct to be wowed by the big view counts you can easily rack up on TikTok…
But how valuable are those views?
Think of how the average person uses TikTok.
They mindlessly swipe between videos like literal zombies. People are so braindead that they often walk into walls and other inanimate objects while scrolling.
Nothing about your video registers in their brain beyond a quick dopamine hit before they move on to the next one.
(You can verify this yourself by looking over people’s shoulders while they’re scrolling TikTok. It’s insane. Don’t worry, they won’t notice that you’re watching. They’ve nuked their brain to the point where they are literally incapable of noticing anything around them.)
Long-form YouTube videos are different.
I estimate that one (1) view on YouTube is worth at least 10,000 views on TikTok (conservative estimate).
People are much more serious and intentional about what they watch on YouTube compared to other platforms.
Your subscribers actually want to see your videos, not just random ‘content’.
Links in video descriptions/pinned posts actually receive clicks, and those clicks convert to sales.
Should you completely ignore short-form video?
No.
It’s very easy to chop up and TikTokify clips (cringy jumpcuts) from your long-form videos and post them as Shorts/TikTok vids.
There’s no reason not to do it.
But longform should be your bread-and-butter. It’s just more valuable. Anyone who has done both knows this is true.
