Heartbreaking brother. You'll bounce back. You've already proven you can do it. These are the kind of tests life throws at us to make sure we have the endurance. You've got this. I'm excited for the next update when we see you crushing again.

One lesson I take away from this, and from my own experience is, relying on one channel for your livelihood is dangerous. Live by Google SERPs, die by Google SERPs. For me that meant going to alternate channels of lead gen, or testing methods like cold email or cold LinkedIn outreach. Every business is different so this doesn’t necessarily apply, but diversifying your traffic source is always a good idea. Maybe test turning your text copy into multiple short form videos and try monetizing on Facebook Reels or YouTube?

I feel you. Started an Ecom company website April 2022, didnt know what SEO meant until September 2022. I now have 151 posts on my site and a total of 91 organic clicks, total 15k impressions. Granted, im in an extremely competitive YMYL supplement niche so not sure what to expect. Monthly cash burn is about $3k between VA/tools/buying back links. MOZ domain authority = 14. Monthly revenue is about $500 from repeat customers. Recent newsletter ad we paid $1000 for, got $500 in revenue (note not profit) in 1 day.

I use Authority Builders, but that was recommended, so dont have great comparisons. HAROW has gotten me 2 backlinks from DA 30s.

Hahah fucken el man. Thanks for sharing. In the end, we both have faith in ourselves that we can make this happen. And if it doesn't, at least we'll go to our graves knowing we weren't one of them pussies who are too afraid to start

GL Lemming. With every crash, there also comes a boom cycle that is better than previous high was. All you can do is chase that new high. You have been there before, now back to work.

Brutal to hear Lemming, but inspired timing as I fear I may be entering my own pit of despair.

On that note, wondering whether anyone help me with an issue I'm having with my website.

So I have a "Reviews" page that lists all of the reviews I've written. However, I recently noticed that this archive page was ranking ahead of the actual post for certain keywords in the SERPs.

After looking around online, I decided to no index all of my archive and category pages in yoast (so they're not in my sitemap), however this has caused a large number of my reviews to completely disappear from the search results. Even when I type in "keyword + site name" in google, I'm seeing my author pages or another random page with a link to the review in the sidebar rank instead of the post.

Why is this happening? Or is it simply a case of giving google some time to rank the correct posts?

Why would you do this? What was the logic behind no indexing a page?

Because the archive page was ranking instead of the individual review/post for certain keywords. So if I typed in "X review" into google, instead of seeing my review about X in the serps, I was seeing my "reviews" archive page. It must be picking up the title or something from the post excerpt on that page. Anyway, if people are searching "X review" in the first place, they're more likely to click on an article with "X review" in the SEO title than a generic archives page that just says "reviews".

So I thought there was some sort of internal cannibalization happening that was confusing google about which URL to rank. By no indexing the archive page, I thought it would remove this ranking conflict and just rank my review instead. However it seems to have done more harm than good so far.

Good shit Lemming. The impressive part ISN'T the traffic / clicks you've got, it's that you're getting back up after being knocked down. Do not underestimate how important that quality is. Do not go quietly into the night...

Also two questions for Tetra:

1) Do you have any idea why Lemming got knee capped by the Big G? Any lessons we all can gain from this?

2) Totally not related to this post, but is having your site name at the end of each page title important / needed? (eg. "The Best Post In The World - Athena Alpha") Does it help? Does it make SEO worse due to the longer title that Google supposedly "doesn't like"?

Don't know what Tetra would say but:

1. Some other mentors I have told me this was coming. Told me my website was blessed for being so new. Said most websites don't have 20k traffic in the first year of SEO. So, I believe Google recalibrated me.

2. No. Just see what the competition does - no one does this. I haven't done this.
